Mobile Information and control systems
Getting information where it is needed most
Sound familiar? You are in an unfamiliar location and would like some information about your surroundings. You search the net, but what you find is not really helpful. The tuomi Information system offers reliable, mobile access to information wherever you are.
Examples of possible applications include museums and information centres in parks, but also the signs in the parks or information panels in the city, at bus stops – in fact almost anywhere.
At the special exhibition “Von Degen, Segeln und Kanonen” (Of Swords, Sails and Cannons) which was on display in the Schleswig-Holstein State Museum and in Kotka, Finland, there were more than 180 NFC points where information was available on the almost 400 objects that were on display. How simple and intuitive it was to access the information is shown by the fact that more than 60% of the visitors used Tuomi’s Digital Guide and accessed around half a million pieces of information.
The City Museum of Trier is using the same solution as an audio guide for the visually impaired and the blind, giving these visitors barrier free access to digital content.
Education and training can also be improved significantly by the inclusive mobile Tuomi information systems. Their use at trade fairs or in companies’ training centres can significantly improve knowledge transfer. The goal is to make information available to everyone – easily, precisely and to the point.
